Except for my wildly blooming bougainvillea in the basement closet (still going strong), my robust but bloom-free African violets, and my overwintering geraniums which are also just leaves at this point–I’ve been flowerless for a few months.
Last weekend I made up for it. For Valentine’s Day we got a lovely bouquet of lavender-pink roses and Siberian iris, and I bought four hyacinths about to bloom. There’s just nothing like fresh flowers to perk up the winter doldrums.
Go ahead–splurge on a bouquet this week! It will do your heart good.
