French beading

I’ve admired French beaded flowers for a long time, but I just decided to dive in, learn some of the techniques and apply them to my necklaces. This is my first effort–Titania.

Takes hours and hours and hours to make something like this–but I do love the result. It’s made of vintage silver foiled seed beads I bought in the Paris flea market a few years ago, a few crystal beads and rhinestone centers. To me, it looks like something Titania would wear in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Very sparkly and fairy-like.
