You cannot trust the weather–ever. We’ve had a full month of no snow on the ground, which is very rare for these parts. I been meandering happily about the garden noticing little green shoots here and there, buds swelling on the lilacs and azaleas. But last night, the March lamb gave way to the March lion, who roared through leaving 3 inches of snow behind—and more on the way tomorrow. It’s rather beautiful, and we needed the moisture badly–so there’s a good side to it. You can see the ice has melted on the lake and waterfowl are starting to gather–including some pretty Golden Eye ducks. I imagine they were a little surprised by the white stuff too!
