I knew these two projects weren’t quite done when I posted about them. Sometimes you have to sit with things for a while before it becomes clear what needs to be done.
These book page paper cups/saucers were interesting, but not interesting enough. So, I decoupaged tiny roses and bluebirds onto two of them and painted forget-me-nots on the other one. Now I think they’re much prettier. When spring comes, I’ll spray on a high gloss finish so they shine like china.
And I wasn’t completely happy with my globe de mariee. The hanging mirror wasn’t working and I needed to add two more branches from the sides across the front. I finally got around to making those changes this week, and now am very satisfied with it. I may add a few antiquey looking small white flowers to the arch (some of the originals have them), and rework the crown or make an entirely new one from scratch in the future. But for now—this piece is done.
